**Fethiye and the Enchanting Göcek Bays**
Our unforgettable cruising journey kicks off in the lively town of Fethiye, where our beautifully crafted Turkish gulets await to take you on a week-long adventure of a lifetime. This afternoon, we’ll board our vessel, where you’ll have the chance to meet your fellow travelers and our dedicated crew. After a comprehensive briefing on life aboard, we’ll set sail towards the stunning Göcek Bays, a region renowned for its myriad islands and tranquil coves that form the picturesque Fethiye Gulf.
Our first destination will be the Yassıca Islands, celebrated for their breathtaking views and crystal-clear waters. These shallow bays are perfect for those who love water sports and swimming. After enjoying our first refreshing dip, we’ll continue our journey to Bedri Rahmi Bay, named in honor of the esteemed Turkish artist and writer, Bedri Rahmi Eyuboglu. In the summer of 1973, during a memorable cruise with friends, he famously painted a fish on a large rock, which still stands at the entrance of this beautiful bay, welcoming visitors.
Bedri Rahmi Bay is a true gem, surrounded by lush pine and olive trees, vibrant oleander flowers, and small sandy beaches, all set against the backdrop of stunning turquoise waters. It’s the perfect spot to unwind and soak in the natural beauty, and we’ll spend the night anchored in this idyllic location. (B, L, D)
**Cleopatra’s Bath and Sarsala Bay**
Following a delightful breakfast and a brief cruise, we’ll arrive at the enchanting Cleopatra’s Bath, also known as the Sunken Bath, named for the submerged remnants of an ancient Roman bath that lie beneath the water's surface. Imagine swimming in the very waters where Cleopatra herself once vacationed with her lover, Marc Antony. The thermal volcanic activity from the hills nearby creates naturally warm hot springs and a crater lake that once supplied the ancient bath.
As you soak in the beauty of this location, keep an eye out through the pine trees for the renowned Lycian hiking trail, where you may catch glimpses of the ancient Lycian tombs carved into the hillsides. We are also in close proximity to the historic city of Lydae, where you can explore Roman and Byzantine ruins, including temples, mausoleums, cisterns, and other fascinating structures.
Tonight, we’ll anchor in Sarsala Bay, a favored spot for blue cruise gulets, known for its inviting swimming beach and a lush wooded valley that extends inland, all surrounded by majestic pine-covered mountains. Sarsala Bay was once the residence of the governor of Egypt during the Ottoman Empire, adding a touch of historical significance to this beautiful setting. (B, L, D)
**Day 3: Kumlubuku, Paradise Island, and Marmaris**
Our adventure continues as we set sail to the breathtaking Kumlubuku Bay, a hidden gem framed by the ancient ruins of the settlement of Amos. Here, you can explore fascinating historical sites, including an acropolis, an amphitheater, a temple, and an altar dedicated to Dionysus. While reaching this significant archaeological site requires a bit of a hike, those who make the trek will be rewarded with stunning panoramic views of the bay below.
The crystal-clear waters of Kumlubuku Bay are perfect for snorkeling and swimming, inviting you to dive into their refreshing embrace. Our next destination is the idyllic Paradise Island, renowned for its lush pine forests and pristine coastline, making it an ideal spot for a refreshing swim in the sea. This beautiful island is a popular choice for boat trips, conveniently located just across from Marmaris.
After enjoying a swim and indulging in afternoon tea, we’ll head to the lively city of Marmaris. This natural harbor boasts a marina that accommodates up to 800 boats, making it a true haven for tourists. Marmaris is celebrated as one of the most sophisticated yachting destinations along the Turkish Riviera, offering a delightful array of shops, cafes, and restaurants nestled within its charming, winding streets. As the sun sets, you’ll find some of the best clubs and bars in the region, ensuring a vibrant nightlife experience. (B, L, D)
**Ekincik and Dalyan**
Ekincik is a pristine natural paradise, featuring a stunning 2-kilometer stretch of untouched gravel beach that meets a charming harbor, offering breathtaking views and abundant opportunities to observe local wildlife. For those interested, an optional excursion to Dalyan awaits, where you’ll be transported from your yacht on a small boat known as a “piyade.”
Your adventure will begin with a swim stop at Turtle Beach, allowing you to bask in the natural beauty of the delta as you glide along the river on a scenic boat ride. Along the way, you’ll encounter the remarkable ancient Rock Tombs, before reaching the rejuvenating mud baths. Here, the warm, mineral-rich waters, high in sulfur, work wonders for your skin, helping to soften and reduce wrinkles.
Dalyan itself is a charming village nestled among pine-covered hills, cotton fields, and miles of unspoiled coastline. The area is home to astonishing rock tombs that were meticulously carved into the cliffs over 2,500 years ago. You’ll also find the ancient city of Kaunos nearby, with ruins that date back 3,000 years. Notably, this beach serves as a nesting ground for the endangered Loggerhead Turtles, who have returned here to lay their eggs for centuries, with nesting season occurring from May to October. (B, L, D)
**Optional Tour:**
Enjoy a river cruise through the Dalyan delta, visit the ancient city of Kaunos, and relax at Iztuzu Beach.
**Agalimani, Göcek, and Domuz Island**
Agalimani is a hidden gem, a tranquil cove where only a limited number of boats can anchor, ensuring a peaceful atmosphere. Here, you’ll find a small stretch of white sandy beach, perfect for swimming ashore and enjoying some private sunbathing. Whether you choose to take a leisurely nap on the beach or embark on a hike to explore nearby ruins, the experience is sure to be memorable. The hike up the slopes rewards you with breathtaking views of the entire cove.
Next, we’ll set sail to the charming town of Göcek, a true yachting paradise. Once we dock in the harbor, you’ll have the opportunity to spend the afternoon exploring this delightful town, filled with quaint shops, inviting cafes, and lively cocktail bars.
Afterward, we’ll head to Domuz Island for another refreshing swim stop. This serene spot is known for its calm waters, making it an ideal place to unwind. The island earned its name, Domuz (meaning "Pork" in Turkish), from the wild pigs that once roamed its shores.
As the day comes to a close, a delicious dinner awaits you, followed by a relaxing evening filled with games or simply gazing at the stars above. (B, L, D)
